How do I set up holiday lock down days?

When using immerse you might need to make it so users are unable to book a certain day off in the year. This support article is all about how you can use lockdown days to achieve this.


A guide to Lockdown Days on Immerse Works:

  • Login to your Immerse works system as an Administrator
  • Click on the Admin cog on the right of the header then head to General and then Lockdown Holidays
  • The list of all lockdown days on the system are shown here
  • To add a new lockdown holiday click on actions in the top right.
  • Fill in information relevant to the lockdown day.
  • Click save and you're done!


For example, let's say I work in retail and I need to lockdown a day where I need all staff to help with a stocktake.

  • First, we would head to the admin section of Immerse works
  • Then we would click on Lock Down Holidays which can be located under the General heading.



  • This page now shows all of the lockdown days I have on the system, which is currently none. So to add a new Lockdown day I would click on Actions in the top right and then on Create New Lock Down Holiday in the dropdown.

  • From here you can select the date the Lockdown will take place, the reason and if it is restricted to a certain business unit.
    • For the reason put why the day has been locked down as this will appear for a user when they try to book the day off.
    • Restricting the lockdown day to a business unit can be useful if you only want the lockdown to affect certain users.



  • Now when you view the calendar the locked down day appears as shown in the screenshot above. These will appear as a dark grey icon on the calendar.



  • If a user clicks on the icon a pop up will appear informing them that they have made an invalid selection along with the reason that was inputted when the lockdown day was created.


And there you have it, you've now created your first lockdown day!
