How do I add a new system role?

Modified on Wed, 28 Sep 2022 at 04:45 PM

A system role allows you to control what a user can do or view within the Immerse System, without giving full administrator rights. A role is a set of one or more permissions, assigned to a system role, which can then be assigned to system users.

A quick guide to adding a new system role:

  • Login to your Immerse Works account.
  • Click on the Admin icon at the top of the page.
  • Once on the Admin dashboard, click on Roles, under the General heading
  • On the Permissions Roles page, click on Add a new Role
  • Input the name of the role, and select the relevant permissions from the drop down list. Click on the Add button after every selection.
  • Click the Save button when you are done.

A more in-depth guide on how to add a new system role:

  • When you log into your Immerse Works account, you will be immediately directed to the Home Dashboard. You will find quick link buttons to the different applications on here, as well as your home widgets. To create a new system role, click on the Admin cog icon at the top of the page.

  • You should now be on the Admin page. Click on Roles

  • On the Roles page, you will see a list of all the roles that have been added to the system, along with the permissions assigned to them. You can edit or delete existing roles by clicking on the Actions button opposite the role.

  • To create a new system role, click on the Actions button at the top right corner, then Add a new Role. Fill in the title, and assign the permissions using the drop-down list. Click on the Add button after every selection.

  • Click on the Save button when you're done.
